Not Planning Out the Interior of the Garage

Installing a garage door takes a lot of planning.  Some people make the mistake of choosing a door that looks beautiful, but not considering the interior of their garage.  For instance, all the wiring and fixtures need to be carefully considered.  One of the common mistakes that people make is placing the outlets and fixtures in the middle of their ceiling; in the exact place that they should have put their motor.

Not Centering Their Motor

Many people don’t realize just how important it is that they’re motor is centered.  This is because if it’s not centered, the door could twist while opening, therefore leading to further damage.

Not Making Adjustments After Installation

After a garage door is installed, we make small adjustments to make sure that everything is in order.  We recommend that anyone who wants to install their own door do the same, as it can save you money in the long-run.  One of the adjustments that you may need to make is adjusting the lift mechanism until the gasket seal reaches the floor.  If you don’t do this, then air could leak from the bottom of the door.
