LaGrange garage doors are powerful; they consist of many different parts that allow them to do their job properly. For instance, garage door rollers slide up the track to lift the door until it fully retracts. The cables are attached to brackets at the bottom of each side of the door to work with the springs to lift and lower the weight of the door, as necessary. Then that brings us to garage door springs, which counteract the force of gravity on the Clermont garage door.
These are just a few examples, but the LaGrange garage door needs a lot of small pieces to function. If one of the pieces isn’t working, it could damage the entire door. That’s why it’s recommended to stop using your LaGrange garage door when one of the pieces stops working until you get an inspection.
One of the pieces that could damage the garage door are broken springs. Although it’s possible for the garage to still open without the springs, the garage door will be very heavy to raise. If you absolutely need to open your Clermont garage door, it should be manually lifted from the center of the door and should be kept level while opening. The door will probably not stay open by itself, so be very careful. That being said, we don’t recommend that you open your door until you replace the springs.
There are a couple of things you may notice if your garage door springs aren’t working. To start, the garage door opener may not open the door. In addition, the door may not stay in the up position when you open it manually, and you may even see splits in the springs when you look at it.
