3 Original Ways To Use Your Garage

For all too long has that enormous piece of perfectly good space that you call your garage remained unused. Don’t be boring like your neighbors, just tossing excess bulk into the abyss, where it will be swallowed up and forgotten until moving day, whenever that will be, if ever. Try something different and reap the benefits. Here are some original ways to utilize your garage:

Home gym: Lester Burnham had the right idea. Set up a bench press and if space permits, a few other weights as well. Working out is equally good for the mind as it is for the body. It’s a necessary part of staying healthy, but sometimes it’s hard to get out of the house. What’s more, it’s annoying having to wait for people three times your size to use the machines. A garage gym is separate from the house, which is enough to get your mind in the zone, but it’s not so far away that you get discouraged or distracted.

Game room: If you set up a couch, a fridge, maybe a foosball table and a TV, you’ll have yourself your very own man cave, completely removed from the decorative stresses of the rest of the house. This can be your zen room, where you drink beer, watch football and forget about the world. If you’ve got kids with loud friends, the garage could be their hangout spot. That’ll minimize noise in the house, especially if you get the garage sound proofed. This could potentially be motivation for you to keep your garage relatively tidy, since it would be used more than if it was just collecting excess stuff.

Bar: Similar to the game room idea, but a bit more classy and catered more to guests than your own personal escape. Setting up a bar will take a bit more time, planning, and money, but it would certainly transform the garage into a more enjoyable space to spend your time. Plus it could make for a good hobby to stock the bar with good wine, whisky, etc. if you are a collector.
